Forged in Battle: War & Empire Kickstarter Launches

Following the very successfull Kickstarter for Empire of the Dead: Requiem the people over at West Wind are launching another Kickstarter with a very different theme - and scale. This campaign I think will be of high interest to everyone collecting Ancients in 15mm. Forged in Battle have one of the most crisp and high quality sculpts on the market when it comes to 15mm WW2 miniatures - one can only expect the same level of detail and quality on this new range. As the Empire of the Dead Kickstarter was praised for being very well run any backer should feel confident in the same level of care and interest will be put into this campaign.

From the West Wind team:

Forged in Battle head to Kickstarter with a brand new game and range of 15/18mm miniatures.
War & Empire will cover the Macedonian and Punic Wars plus we have planned some amazing extras, Siege engines, city walls etc.

If we are successful at achieving our goals on Kickstarter the we will  produce the following armies.

1 Skythian.

 2 Thracian, Illyrian & Getic

 3 Early Hoplite Greek

 4 Early Achaemenid Persian

 5 Later Achaemenid Persian

 6 Classical Indian

 7 Later Hoplite Greek

Plus as an added bonus we will be adding Stretch Goals as we unlock the additional armies.

  2. They do look great.....only problem is other great companies cover those periods in 15mm.
like Xyston and Corvus Beli for example. Why not Biblical, Renaissance, Late Medieval etc. where there really isn't anything that great out there that I know of IMHO.

  3. I'm hesitant on the W&E Kickstarter - if they make the basic gist of the rules available and offer actual 'army' set for their rules, I'd be more interested.

My main problem is that, if 8/10 'packs' of miniatures will make a 'small' army, then the 15 pack pledge level (which is the max at the moment) won't be enough to make two starter armies.

  4. Wishing them all the best with this - 6mm Ancients for me already though.
